Over the course of April 2020, during the global fight against the coronavirus, this collection of photos is a small glimpse into how the people and places in the state of Nebraska are responding. As health professionals, political leaders, and people in charge all across the world scrabbled to do what they thought was best in this unprecedented time, civilians followed suit. People began wearing masks and cutting way down on unessential trips. There was a dramatic shift in the way people spent their money and how they interreacted with the world. In such a time the internet is playing a crucial role in not only how we gather our news, learn about new developments with the virus, but it has also helped keep us together. All over the world people are rallying behind one organization or another, people are rallying behind health professionals and small business, and Lincoln, Nebraska, has been no different. People seem to have stepped back and reconnected with the simpler things in life, like family and long walks and appreciating what we all have. Others have suffered unimaginable tragedy as lives have been lost and wildly altered because of the virus. Health care workers have worked tirelessly to learn about treating, containing and protecting themselves and others from the coronavirus. 100 years after the last global pandemic the people are once again scrambling and changing the way they live and respond to nearly everything in life. History has a funny way of repeating itself, and as we fight this pandemic as a global community, we will continue to face tragedy and challenges, but we must remain together and believe that we will defeat this virus. There is hope for LNK.
